THORNSTORN and Nafaka Kilimo signed a contract for Maize CCE

THORNSORN has signed a contract with Nafaka Kilimo to conduct crop experiment survey ( CCEs) in the district of Mufindi, Kilolo, Iringa rural and Wangingombe District. Nafaka Kilimo has partnered with the World Food Programme (WFP), to implement a Farm to Market Alliance (FtMA) Programme. FtMA comprises of six consortium Alliance Members amongst them: AGRA, Bayer, Rabobank, Syngenta, WFP, and Yara International. Through a demand-led approach, FtMA works with local agricultural ecosystem players to sustainably improve farmer livelihoods whilst fostering commercial viability of value chain stakeholders. The exercise aims of conducting the crop cut experiment (CCE) is to scientifically measure the Maize productivity per hectare as the result of Nafaka intervention in promoting maize good agriculture practices and the use of proper inputs. The CCE findings will be used to establish scientific evidence for smallholder farmers' maize productivity in the selected regions of Iringa and Njombe to establish evidence base for improved yield and productivity to Maize Smallholder farmers
